Our specialist team are vetted, and security cleared to work on most defence sites, with some ex-military, having worked within the fuel and infrastructure sector, and understand the challenge of an operational and mission critical environment. Our outcomes are focused on military needs and their mandatory requirements, and our account management structure offers consistency in operational delivery, right first-time solutions, and efficiency in process.
We know that being mission ready with an ageing fuel infrastructure creates challenges. When you need fuel, it is mission critical and you cannot afford operational downtime. You need your fuel infrastructure to be regularly and meticulously maintained by experts who understand the importance of your critical equipment.
We have worked on all the UK RAF bases and a number of Army bases and know the condition and structure of your assets. We also understand defence specific legislation and can help you ensure your ageing fuel infrastructure and critical assets remain compliant, extending their lifecycle until they are replaced or upgraded.
You need to be aware of your environmental responsibilities, and you must make sure that you operate in a legally compliant way. Non-compliance brings the risk of enforcement action, possible fines, and real damage to your reputation. We make sure your assets remain compliant with all relevant industry legislation including BS EN 858-2:2003, CIRIA C736 and C753, Environmental Permitting Regulations, Guidance for Pollution Prevention and specific asset standards and guidance.
We can help you ensure your critical infrastructure and estates are aligned to the Defence Climate Change and Sustainability Strategy. We know that you are transitioning all your on-site grey vehicles to electric vehicles. We can help you develop a strategy to transition your vehicles from traditional hydrocarbons, through HVO’s and synthetic fuels to electric or another alternative fuel.
Fully ISO compliant, we also have excellent working relationships with the Environment Agency, Marine and Coastguard Agency, Defra, SEPA, the other regulatory and inspection bodies, government agencies and insurers – all of whom have accredited us in every relevant discipline and employ our services.
Talk to us today at DPTRE to find out how we can support your critical operations.

Kingwell Holdings
Stand Number: 173

Cordons Farm Engineering Ltd. (CFE Ltd)
Our origins lie in forestry and emergency incineration, but we have since expanded into the critical domain of small arms ammunition (SAA) disposal. How did this transition come about? This innovative concept was envisioned and developed by Justin Kingwell and his engineering team in Scotland, driven by a growing concern over the increasing volume of SAA generated in conflict zones. These stockpiles pose significant risks of misuse, injuries, and high security costs associated with guarding unused and recovered ammunition.
With a background rooted in forestry, our core values of efficiency, sustainability, and environmental responsibility, shaped our approach. Our goal was to design a cost-effective, compact, and rapidly deployable system that could address these challenges. Crucially, we aimed to create a solution that could remain operational in-theatre as a long-term resource for the community, without leaving behind dual-use components or valuable materials that might be misappropriated.
The Solution: CFE SAA System
The CFE SAA system embodies a streamlined, efficient, and reliable approach to ammunition disposal. It delivers numerous benefits:
• Environmental and Economic Advantages: The system efficiently separates and recovers high-grade metals for commercial scrap recovery while minimising emissions from propellants and tracer chemicals during processing. It offers a sustainable means of legacy scrap metal recovery for communities or contractors involved in post-conflict reconstruction.
• Enhanced Security: By rendering SAA stocks safe and free from explosives (FFE), the system reduces or eliminates the need for costly security operations guarding stockpiles.
• Fully Self-Contained: The system is self-sufficient, featuring an integral power source and requiring no external infrastructure. It is transported in a standard STANAG NATO container, deployable within minutes, and operable with basic training.
• Robust and Reliable: Designed to safely process mixed, dirty, and damaged ammunition (.22, 9mm,5.56, 7.62mm and all similar civilian and military calibers), the system incorporates automatic safety features to prevent unsuitable ammunition from entering the machine.
• Low Maintenance: The system is engineered for ease of maintenance and repair in the field without the need for specialised tools.
Beneficiaries and Applications
The CFE system is an invaluable tool for a wide range of users, including:
• Military organizations and UXO/ERW contractors.
• Scrap metal recovery and post-conflict reconstruction entities.
• Charities and NGOs focused on community safety.
• Farmers, forestry companies, and displaced or returning communities working to ensure their environments are safe and free from hazardous SAA.
Current Progress and Vision
CFE operates as a distinct entity within the Kingwell group of companies, holding all assets and intellectual property related to this innovative system. We are now entering the final phase of proving its capabilities on large-scale disposal projects, paving the way for mass production and a sales or leasing business model.

Women Empowering Defence: A New Era of Strength
In an age where the boundaries of gender are being continually redefined, "Women Empowering Defence" stands as a beacon of progress and possibility. This movement is more than just an initiative; it is a revolution in thought and action. It seeks to dismantle the barriers that have historically limited women’s roles in the defence sector, highlighting their indispensable contributions to national security, peacekeeping, and global stability.
Strength in Unity
At the core of this initiative lies the belief that true strength emerges from unity. When women are empowered to join forces with their male counterparts, the collective power is unmatched. "Strength in Unity" is not just a tagline; it’s a principle that drives the vision of a more inclusive and effective defence force. By harnessing the unique perspectives and skills that women bring to the table, we build a force that is resilient, adaptable, and prepared for the complexities of modern warfare and peacekeeping operations.
Power in Diversity
"Diversity is our strength," they say, and nowhere is this truer than in the realm of defence. The diverse backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints that women bring to the defence sector enhance decision-making processes, foster innovation, and cultivate a culture of inclusivity. "Power in Diversity" underscores the importance of embracing these differences, recognising that a diverse team is a stronger, more agile team—one that can tackle challenges from multiple angles and find solutions that a homogenous group might overlook.
Leading with Purpose
Women across Defence are not just contributors; they are purposeful leaders driving change. Whether on the front lines or in command centres, they consistently prove their strength, courage, and unwavering commitment. "Leadership with Purpose" embodies their determination to lead with vision and intent, inspiring others through their actions and setting new standards for leadership. These women aren’t merely transforming the landscape of defence; they are shaping the future of global security with purpose, redefining what it truly means to lead in today’s complex world.
Together, these principles—strength in unity, power in diversity, Leading with Purpose form the foundation of "Women Empowering Defence." This movement is a call to arms for a more equitable, dynamic, and powerful defence sector, where every voice is heard, every perspective is valued, and every leader—regardless of gender—has the opportunity to rise and shine
Women in Defence UK
Partner
Stand Number: 171

Women in Defence UK – accelerating gender equity in defence. What we do? Motivated by Emmeline Pankhurst’s famous quote ‘Deeds not Words’, we work with our defence public and private sector Partners to help to make gender equity a reality. How do we do that? We inspire through our annual Awards that recognise and celebrate all individuals working in defence of the UK, we challenge senior leaders on their equity, diversity and inclusion plans through one on one interviews, we offer mentoring for women through our groundbreaking cross sector mentoring programme and we work with our Partners to create a Critical Mass of knowledge and leading practice to help move the dial on gender equity. We work alongside Women in Defence Careers who support us and the Women in Defence Charter to build a critical mass of women in the sector.
The Women in Defence Charter was launched in 2019 and represents a commitment by the defence sector to work together to build a more gender balanced environment. It is a collaboration between the Ministry of Defence, defence industry and Women in Defence UK. Organisations that sign the Charter are committing to be the very best at driving inclusion and diversity within their organisations and providing fair opportunities for women to succeed at all levels. A balanced workforce is good for government and good for business, good for customers and consumers, for profitability and workplace culture, for promoting prosperity and stability, and for showing everyone matters in building stronger and more peaceful communities. The Charter has an ambition that 30% of roles at all levels in defence will be filled by women by 2030, yet recognises that each company or organisation should set its own target to reflect where it is on that journey.
