Export Readiness Zone

The Exporting Zone at DPRTE is a vital destination for defence suppliers looking to expand their footprint beyond the UK and tap into the growing demand for British defence capabilities across international markets. This zone focuses on enabling meaningful connections between UK suppliers, overseas buyers, and government-led export support organisations.

As a core component of the UK’s Defence Industrial Strategy, exporting UK capability is a key national priority. The Defence Industrial Council has been tasked with mobilising UK industry internationally, supported by a growing framework of partnerships, government backing, and trade support mechanisms.

With the UK ranked as the third-largest defence exporter in the world, there is a strong demand for UK innovation and expertise in areas such as aerospace, naval systems, cyber technologies, and advanced platforms. This zone helps suppliers identify and access those opportunities—backed by practical guidance, sector insight, and strategic support.

Key areas covered will include:

  • Export Readiness & Support – Engage directly with representatives from UK Defence and Security Exports (UKDSE) and international buyers to learn about export strategies, overseas market access, and government support tools.

  • Strategic Export Markets – Discover high-growth opportunities

  • Export Growth at Scale – With UK defence exports valued at approximately £14.5 billion in 2023, and a rolling three-year average of £7.4 billion, the global appetite for UK defence capability continues to rise—especially in high-value sectors such as advanced air, electronic warfare, and maritime systems.

The Exporting Zone empowers UK defence suppliers to explore new markets, forge international relationships, and play an active role in advancing the UK’s global defence presence.
