Inspirational Colonel Tim Collins OBE to speak at DPRTE 2020

Colonel Tim Collins OBE

We are proud to announce that one of the best-known soldiers of the Gulf War will give a keynote motivational speech to DPRTE 2020.

Colonel Tim Collins OBE will address delegates at the Exhibition at Farnborough International Exhibition Centre on April 1, 2020.

Colonel Collins is no stranger to speech making. He gained worldwide fame in 2003 when, as Commander of the 1st Royal Irish Battle Group on the eve of the invasion of Iraq, he delivered a rousing but thoughtful speech to his troops as they prepared to go into battle. He urged each soldier to be ferocious in battle but magnanimous in victory and respectful to the ancient culture of Iraq. A copy of that speech hangs in the Oval Office of the White House.

Colonel Tim left the British Army in 2004 and co-founded intelligence-based security services company Pinpoint Corporate Services. He is also a motivational speaker.

Reaction

Simon Burges, Managing Director of DPRTE said:

“We’re absolutely delighted that Colonel Tim can be with us next year. A naturally inspiring speaker and an authority on teamwork leadership and motivation, we look forward to hearing his views on these subjects, which he illustrates with anecdotes from his service in Iraq, Columbia, Zaire and the Balkans.”

The Defence Procurement, Research, Technology & Exportability (DPRTE), is now well established as the UK’s leading annual defence procurement and supply chain event. The one-day event offers an unrivalled opportunity for defence sector personnel to engage with organisations of all sizes across the industry.

The Event

DPRTE is officially supported by key procurement organisations including DE&S, with over 1500 delegates from the UK MOD, academia and industry to attend including Boeing, Bae Systems and Airbus.

Next year’s event is 50% larger than 2019 due to an increase in expected exhibitor numbers and the addition of a new zone, the Infrastructure and Estates Pavilion, hosted by DIO.

DPRTE will be the largest gathering of key people from across the UK’s £20 billion-plus annual defence acquisition and supply chain marketplace.
