The MOD’s Doing Business with Defence team facilitates the entry of new innovative and non traditional businesses into the defence supply chain. The team provide advice and guidance to companies on how to become a defence supplier and access MOD tender and contract opportunities through a variety of channels:
– Helpdesk facility
-Attendance at trade exhibitions across the UK where they will deliver presentations on request

-Publication of various sources of useful information via the supplier portal hosted on Defence Contracts Online and their Twitter account @defenceproc

Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) equips and supports the UK’s Armed Forces for current and future operations. Employing approximately 18,000 people with a budget of some £14 billion, DE&S has headquarters in Bristol with other sites across the UK and overseas.
DE&S acquires and supports equipment and services including ships, aircraft, vehicles and weapons, information systems and satellite communications. As well as continuing to supply general requirements, food, clothing, medical and temporary accommodation, DE&S is also responsible for HM Naval Bases, the joint support chain and British Forces Post Office.
DE&S works closely with industry through partnering agreements and Private Finance Initiatives to seek and deliver effective solutions for defence.

The Defence Suppliers Forum (DSF) enables strategic engagement between Government (MOD) and the Defence Industry, including Primes, Mid-Tier, and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SME). Its focus is to facilitate the effective sharing of information, aligning our objectives and optimising the contribution that both Defence and Industry can jointly make to defence capability.
The DSF, co-chaired by the Secretary of State for Defence, and a nominated Industry Chief Executive. is the primary MOD-industry engagement mechanism on strategic topics. Alongside its role in delivering the agreed programme of work, the DSF is central to supporting agile joint government/industry responses to significant national issues, including epidemics and emergencies.

Dstl (Defence Science and Technology Laboratory) is the science inside UK defence and security. As an Executive Agency of the MOD, we are a national asset, providing world class expertise and delivering cutting-edge S&T giving the UK clear advantage across science, technology, cyber and information.
We supply specialist services to MOD and wider government, working collaboratively with external partners in industry and academia worldwide, providing expert research, specialist advice and invaluable operational support.

The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) finds and funds exploitable innovation to support UK defence and security quickly and effectively, and support UK prosperity. Our vision is for the UK to maintain its strategic advantage over its adversaries through the most innovative defence and security capabilities in the world. DASA is a cross-Government organisation, launched in December 2016 by the Secretary of State for Defence.

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) plays a vital role in supporting our Armed Forces by building, maintaining and servicing the infrastructure that the men and women who serve our country need to live, work, train and deploy on operations.
DIO is responsible for managing £3.25 billion annual investment into the defence estate in the UK and overseas, and manages an estate valued at circa £35 billion. It does this through a range of term, framework, PFI and other supply contracts that make DIO one of the largest contracting organisations in Government.

The Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP) is a joint MOD/industry initiative initiated in 2012 and established in 2013 and tasked with improving the protection of the defence sector from the cyber threat.

We help the UK defence and security industries to export. We do this by building strong relationships with industry and overseas governments. We provide specialist export advice and practical assistance, working closely with industry and government departments including the Ministry of Defence (MOD), the Home Office and the Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU).
