Luke Pollard MP, Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, has outlined the government’s strategy for strengthening British land warfare capabilities through closer collaboration between defence, industry and private finance. Speaking at DVD 2026 on 16 September, Pollard highlighted three new procurement contracts worth a combined £16 million for small intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) drones, confirmed a contract with Tekever for twenty-four AR5 drones by 2029, and announced awards to MBDA and Thales to develop a beyond-line-of-sight anti-armour weapon system.
