Supacat has marked the successful completion of its latest Jackal 3 production programme for the British Army with a celebration event at its Honiton headquarters in Devon, bringing together employees, partners, and programme stakeholders to recognise the delivery of the final vehicles and the conclusion of one of the UK’s most significant protected mobility programmes.
Delivered in partnership with Babcock, the programme saw a total of 123 Jackal 3 vehicles manufactured for the British Army across the latest production tranches. Notable attendees at the celebration included Brigadier Nick Searle, Senior Responsible Officer for the programme, and Colonel Jez Johnson of AH Protected Mobility NAD.
A Platform Proven in the World’s Most Demanding Environments
Originally designed by Supacat, Jackal has become a cornerstone of British Army light mobility capability and has continuously evolved to meet changing operational requirements since its introduction to service. The latest Jackal 3 generation delivers enhanced protection, increased payload, and greater mission flexibility, while retaining the speed, agility, and off-road performance that have defined the platform throughout its service history.
The latest production programme included the six-wheeled Jackal 3 Extenda variant, providing increased payload capacity while retaining the exceptional off-road mobility that has made the HMT platform synonymous with operational success across some of the world’s most demanding environments.

Supacat has recently opened a new manufacturing facility at Dunkeswell in Devon, significantly expanding its production capability to support future UK and international vehicle programmes. The investment strengthens the resilience of UK defence supply chains, creates highly skilled engineering and manufacturing jobs in the South West, and provides the foundation for the next generation of military mobility programmes.
