The RAF has established No. III Space Effects Squadron, its first dedicated unit tasked with countering hostile threats to UK satellites. The squadron, announced on 23 September 2026 by Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smyth at the UK Space Power Conference, will use advanced technology including Electronic Warfare to disrupt, degrade and deny adversary activity in orbit.
